ST. PATRICK YOUTH
DECK HOCKEY LEAGUE RULES
All players must wear the following equipment:
Street Hockey Helmet (with face cage)
Shin guards
Elbow pads
Hockey gloves
Hockey stick
Protective Cup ( for all boys)
Goalies: leg pads, goalie glove (not baseball mitt),chest protector ( any coaches needing this equipment please speak to coordinator)
Games are scheduled every 50 minutes, so please try to be considerate to the teams playing after you and leave the court as quickly as possible.
PeeWee Division: 2 – 12 minute periods
Penguin Division: 3 – 10 minute periods
Beaver Division: 3 – 11 minute periods
Cadet Division: 3 – 12 minute periods
The last 2 minutes of the game is stop time.
Pee wee Division stops the clock and changes lines. All others change on the fly.
Offsides: is enforced at the Penguin, Beaver and Cadet Divisions.
Time outs: Each coach gets 2 timeouts for the game. There is no overtime in regular season games, a shoot out determines winner.
In playoffs, there will be overtime. There are no timeouts during overtime in the playoffs.( even if coach did not use them during game)
Net size: The nets are smaller for Pee Wees and Penguin Divisions.
Beaver and Cadet use standard size nets.
Penalties: Standard NHL penalties are called.
Beaver and Cadet divisions – Any player receiving more than 3 penalties are out of the game.
